Overlooking the landscape from Cavo Ventus in Santorini.
In the village of Akrotiri one of the most important prehistoric cultures of the world was created. According to archaeologists, Akrotiri was inhabited from 4500 BC. In the 18th century BC Akrotiri was an organized city destroyed by the volcanic eruption in the 17th century BC. The volcanic lava that covered the prehistoric settlement of Akrotiri left untouched the architecture and a series of murals that give us information for the everyday life in the prehistoric city.
